I have used Cepro for Prostititus infection many times, but lately it doesn't fullyclear the infection and I still have burning when I urinate etc.
They are both good for bacterial infection, if bacteria is what is causing the infection, and that bacteria is susceptible or sensitive to the antibiotics actions. They can determine this by a culture and sensitivity test. First they should take a sample of urine or any purulent drainage, grow the bacterium, then they can test to see which antibiotics it is sensitive too. Sometimes C&S (culture and sensitivity) tests are not necessary because they know what antibiotics can be used in common bacterial infections but if you keep having problems with it coming back, I would ask them to get a C&S test. Your sex partners may need to be tested as well, even if they do not have symptoms, as they may be harboring the bacteria and passing it back to you during sex thus reinfecting you.
Finishing a 30 tablet script this week for what the Primary care Doc diagnosed as Prostitus 11 days ago.
Urnine Screen 14 days ago was same as follow up screen today.

TODAY Dr. says,
Finish the Bactrim DS and if you are not feeling better fill THEN fill this script for Cipro.
Lower back pain is 90% gone after after 11 days of the Bactrim DS. I will personally wait to see if the Bactrim does what it appears to be doing and will advise in Post later this week.
