Can sulfacetamide and prednisolone sodium opthalmic be used for ear infections?

Opthalmic is for eyes only. The ears work differently. Most importantly a supposed infection in the ear is generally in the ear behind the ear drum and putting something in the ear canal does nothing except possibly inflame or itch. If this is swimmers itch it needs to be diagnosed. It might also be a fungus so no antibiotic would help.

Therefore, this one needs to go to the doctor soon to get relief and proper diagnosis. Let us know if you have further questions. And thanks for writing.
