Generally treatment of eczema is topical unless its severe. Cortisone creams and good cleansers and moisturizers are generally used.

I suffer from severe, chronic eczema and the only thing that works for me is a daily powerful antihistamine (usually at night as these make you sleepy) to reduce itching and allergies which cause eczema flare ups, and I use prednisone, an oral steroid, to control the flaring and itching.
