... got back into a pain management clinic. This time with good results. I'm taking Morphine Sulfate 30 mg ER, 1 every 8 hours, and Oxycodone 15 mg up to 4 times a day for breakthrough pain. I've never had anxiety issues until recently, I would say the last 2 weeks I was taking Morphine Sulfate 15 mg ER. Not sure of the cause but, I did read a little about it. Has this happened to anybody else because of medicine? Have you tried natural remedies to help?
The amount of Oxycodone might be metabolized too fast by your body or the highs & lows from the Oxycodone might be causing your anxiety.
Talk to your dr & discuss your issues. Perhaps changing the timing & dosage of your Meds might resolve your issues.
Please do not attempt any changes to your medication except under a dr's supervision.

Hi Mike - just have to comment here that the Morphine Sulfate could also be causing the anxiety. According to the nih drug info it is not a common reaction (it is listed under Less Frequently Observed Reactions).
The only reason I went to look is because my one and only experience with it was post surgery and I became so agitated and was shaking so bad they had to give me something else to calm me down.
Your pharmacist should be able to give you some information, but as always I would check with your doctor too.
The one natural remedy that I find calms me down is lemon balm. I am still suffering from anxiety as tapering off cymbalta and a nice cup of lemon balm tea before bed helps me settle down enough to go to sleep for awhile.
There are a number of teas that have lemon balm in them or check at a health food or natural remedy store.
Take care of you
I have a tarlov cyst on spinal cord which has resulted in nearly 5 years of chronic pain, which also resulted in fibromyalgia and severe depression and this past year anxiety and panic disorder. It got to the point I could no longer go up any higher on the anti depressants. I had been taking morphine sulphate for 4-5 years and had two surgeries. Allergic to just about everything else. Had nerve damage on my tail bone too in addition to my cyst under s2. I'm a 61 yr old female. Had tail bone removed. Was considering electric shock therapy. Was told to get off morphine and benzodiazopines (valium, sleeping meds, etc.) because it would interrupt the shock therapy. Morphine is hard but the benzos are pure hell to get off of. I nearly had to check myself into behavioral care and it took nearly 3 months.
Would not have made it without the new TMS (transcranial magnetic therapy.) Long story short - my new pain manager has me on 200 mg topiramate 100 mg in am and 100 mg in pm, 10 mg baclofen 2 x per day and 15 mg meloxicam in am. I have less pain than before and I'm not as constipated as I was on morphine. I'm no longer on narcotics, praise God! The combination works better than anything they have tried so far for nerve pain.
