It is no longer helping me. I've tried different meds over the years and the only one that helped(other than Remeron) was Effexor but it made my bp SO high. Any suggestions? I also have anxiety and don't leave my house for days on end.
I'm surprised that you are even awake to type this post. I took Remron 15mg. And I was sleeping like 14-16hrs. a day. But to answer your questions, have you tried Zoloft? Or Klonopin or Ativan added to your psych med regime? I understand completely that anxiety can turn people into hermits. Not taking care of yourself hygienically. Feeling like a prisoner in your own house. Talk to your psychiatrist and make your situation clear so that he or she knows that your miserable.
I understand and empathize with you! unfortunately Remeron can poop out and stop working suddenly. Effexor is known to cause hypertension. I've been there and the depression and anxiety feed off each other, I think a strong benzo like Xanax or Klonopin are needed and maybe even something like Tranxene that you take regularly and Xanax for when it gets debilitating. Latuda has helped my depression greatly added to my Lexapro and now Wellbutrin. I would look into a dopamine agonist like Pramipexole or if you can handle a low dose of Ritalin or Dexedrine (Adderall is more activating). I recommend Latuda and a dopamine agonist other than Adderall or Wellbutrin, they will cause hypertension with an SSRI either Zoloft or Lexapro. 2nd line would be Elavil and Pramipexole plus a benzo. What have you tried?
