I tried taking suboxone a few weeks ago, well i threw myself into w/d, but I am determined to do this. I am gonna take a sub in about 2 hrs, I was just wondering if i am gonna feel alright enough to work or if i should plan on staying home for a few days?
You have to be in moderate withdrawal with all the other opiate out of your system for the suboxone to work and not throw you into precipitated withdrawal like you had before. It will take approximately 24 hours without any other opiate in your system and a score of at least 26 on the COWS test before it will work and not have the bad effect you had. Google the COWS sheet by the words it stands for, Clinical Opiate Withdrawl Scale and take the test and be honest, if you exaggerate your score, you are going to have the same thing happen. If you are on methadone, that is another long acting opiate and that may be why it happened. You have to be off methadone longer than 24 hours and should be in a doctors office to be inducted if you have been on methadone, or have taken any recently. It wouldn't hurt you to be off a few days if you can afford it, and won't get in trouble at work.
