Hey People, I got sick of the daily trudge to get meds not to mention the fact that sub has completely drained me of creativity and the desire to do anything productive and have decided to try going cold turkey from 6mg that I've been on for 3 months after an 18 month H habit. I'm not working at the moment so have time to chill and try and get this ******** out of my system, I'm exactly 48 hrs in and feel sweet, not a thing... starting to think I may somehow miraculously escape any WD, is this possible? xx
sparra1981, you are very lucky if youve got no wds. im on a very very slow taper off of percocet with the help of my dr and family here at dc. ive been thru many tapers, then i get to a low mg, and get stuck, then it falls apart and i am at day 1 again. so now were trying it another way and i hope and pray it works cause im tired of having to pop a pill to feel normal. i wish i was able to take some time from work because it would be very helpfull while on my taper. ive felt very little wds last evening but was able to get thru it. if the wds come and get bad, id advise you to consider tapering, ask your dr and im sure he/she would be more then willing to help, take care and keep posting
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but jumping from 6mg a day of Suboxone is not going to be fun. Suboxone is a long acting med, you won't feel the withdrawals until 3 to 5 days after the last dose. Please don't get me wrong, I admire your desire, just want to encourage you to do this is in a way that is successful. Tapering over time is the best way to get off the Suboxone without withdrawals.
If you would like a taper plan, don't hesitate to ask.
