can i drink some alcohol if i am not decreasing and i'm just on 12mg of suboxone, 1 mg of xanax and just have a couple of beers ( 6-8 ).
Dear Lazarus, may I ask what your goal is considering you switched to suboxone from either methadone or long term opiate dependence, and I am not meaning to sound mean, rude or facetious, but you are at super high risk of opiate relapse, 2 more addictions/dependences.(alcohol and benzos) and even death or coma. I am concerned for you and those you love, not to mention those you may be on the road with or anyone near you while you might be operating heavy machinery, smoking, or leaving something on the stove. I am not trying to judge you or seem harsh, but you literally got off one dependence and switched it for something else. You are not ready to be sober for sure, and I know that sounded harsh, but I know all reading this and all your other posts agree with me. Sure, you can take anything or drink anything you want to on what you think is a low dose of subs, but you are putting yourself and possibly others at risk.
Are you complying with the supposed mandatory addiction counseling, if not, you will continue to have underlying unresolved emotional issues that WILL trigger relapse or further addictions. You WILL continue to be anxious and depressed because you have only switched medications, you aren't going to hela, you are going to go thru life with blinders on while high and that is not going to help you in the long run. I am sorry if you are hurt, offended or disappointed in my answer, but I can't lie to you and tell you that having 6 to 8 beers, a xanax and 12 mgs of subs is ok, or that you will remain steady or even awake. Very dangerous combo, dude. Pattishan
Your name and your questions kind of go hand in hand, don't they? I think you need to ask some of these questions on sites like www.blughtlight.ru... it is a very good website and they are all about harm reduction. I belong to both sites, but this is my home site. I am 47 and want to see my grandchildren... anyway I would like to see some of the hardcore responses!! No offense but sometimes 2 sides of the coin can be very interesting... Sweetpea
