I have 13 2mg pills only. I have been on up to 60 mg of oxycodone a day for a few years. My friend told me that 13 pills would be enought to get off the opiods without too much withdrawl. Could somebody tell me how i should take them, the dosage, fequency of taking the pills?

Hi there. I've been on subs for a month. I take them under doc supervison. Its great you want to get off the oxy! 13 pills could help you but I fear may not be enough. You will get withdrawl symptoms from going off the subs if you don't have enough to taper with. I need you to be on the subs long enough to help you through the withdrawl from the oxy.
You also have to be very careful with taking subs. If you don't take your first dose correctly you can go into whats called preciptated withdrawl and it will NOT be good.
Is there anyway you could look into seeing a doctor who prescribes suboxone? Go to the suboxone website and you can locate doctors in your area. Good luck.
Suboxone is NOT white, it may be subutex that you have. That is the "sister" medication and it does not have the second blocker drug in it. You have the weaker pills as well, they come in an 8 mg that is usually prescribed for withdrawal at first. You should be in opiate withdrawal with no opiate in your system for at least 24 hours before you take it. You are not supposed to take any benzo with suboxone or subutex, really no sedating meds unless they are prescribed with the knowledge of the suboxone/subutex. After you have been 24 hours in withdrawal, place a tablet under your tongue and let it dissolve. Subutex and suboxone are designed to work this way and this way alone, they will not work if you take the pill as opposed to dissolving it under the tongue. It starts relieving withdrawal in as little at 20 to 45 minutes but it takes about 2 hours for it to get to its full peak of relief and should last around 24 hours. Do not take anymore until 2 hours have lapsed, making sure meds have hit the peak. Rocket man, the Person UNLVGRAD is completely right, you should find a doctor to do this with. You also need support and counseling. People who quit opiates frequently get depressed, seek treatment if this happens. 13 pills is probably only enough to postpone withdrawal until you are out.You actually are at the low end of the abuse scale as far as the amount of oxy you were on. My suggestion would be to see if you are one of the people who can go well over 24 hours on subutex, it can work for 3 to 5 days in some people. The dose most start at is 8 to 16 mgs, but that is actually too high. There can be some sensory illusions, i.e. any of your senses can get whacky for a couple of days. You should only need 2 to 4 mgs per day and I would suggest you either find an addiction counselor, a subs doctor, and to make DAMN SURE, you actually have subutex. Not looking at the pills, I can't verify that is what it is, but suboxone is NOT white. Go to the pill identifier section of this site and look it up by shape, color and markings.
