I know mebendazole was previously used to treat pinworms only, you would take one tab then another at 2 weeks to treat any eggs that hatched. Pharmacists told me that mebendazole is no longer available and stromectol is the new treatment. It is taken according to persons wait and can only be taken once every 3 months. Pharmacist said it treats the pinworm and the eggs. Is that true? Any additional info is appreciated.
According to the mayo clinic they are using mebendazole and albendazole. Stromectal is used for round worm infections.
