I'm a nursing mother who was just diagnosed with strep throat. The pain is unbearable and Tylenol, Advil, Aleve dull the pain a few hours but that's it. My 6 month old is already on amoxicillin. I am allergic but the Dr gave me zithromax and he said it "should work". What can I do for pain until the meds kick in? I've done salt water gargle, hydrogen peroxide gargle, losenges, but I really like a pain reliever that works. I am also pumping and bottle feeding my baby. Pumping and dumping with Aleve. Please help as I am experiencing a ton of pain.

Bmomma41; So sorry no one has gotten to you all I can say if it is not better by now call your doctor the only thing you're going to get that you can take while nursing that is stronger than what you are taking is prescription medication. And that has to come from the doctor. sorry can't be of more help
