I've read numerous sites that Straterra is Not a Stimulant drug. But I've been told by my Doctor and by my Mental Health worker that it is a Stimulant. Pls. Tell me who's lying to me???
Even though it is not a true stimulant, it may work very well for you. Try it, if it doesnt work you can always try something else. You have to either have trust in your healthcare professionals or you dont. They spent years studying the subject-they should know what they are talking about. Straterra works very well for a lot of ADD/ADHD patients. It is better for you if you can NOT take a stimulant. They have more side effects.
I have ADHD they usually prescribe you a non-stimulate and a stimulate. I know it's not a controlled substance like adderall (a true stimulate) and so it's suppose to help with your focus. It's very hard these days if you have ADHD to get the proper meds you need ESP if you're under 30. I had to get a court order so no one could take me off certain meds bc nj doctors are so worried about drug abuse. I almost died when another doctor refused to give me Xanax in the hospital. Adderall works best for me honestly I take strattera along with it but I don't think it does anything. I can tell the difference if I don't take the adderall not the strattera.
