... so awful though. My head hurts, I'm dizzy beyond belief, I forget everything, I want to sleep all day, no energy, I'm ill as a rattlesnake, and cry randomly. Some of these symptoms I'm sure are helped by the pregnancy but this sucks!!! How long will I feel this way? Should I ask my doctor to refill my Zoloft and continue taking it? I'm not sure if it's safe for the baby... please please please help!!!
You should not have just stopped it. You should have tapered off of it at the very least. It is a category c and this means you can take it if its absolutely necessary and the benefit outweighs the any risk to the baby. You're putting the baby through the withdrawal too. What I'd do is take 50 mg now. I would continue on the 50 for at least 2 weeks before I stopped it. If that was a problem, then take 25 for a few weeks. Call your obstetrician and ask about it. He is the expert on whether or not you should take it, but don't put the baby thru this.
