I was prescribed flagyl and was on it for 5 days. I know you are supposed to avoid alcohol while taking it but would it be okay to have a drink tonight? Last dose was last night.
Interaction with Alcohol
Use of oral metronidazole is associated with a disulfiram-like reaction to alcohol, including abdominal cramps, nausea, vomiting, headaches, and flushing. Discontinue consumption of alcohol or products containing propylene glycol during and for at least three days after therapy with metronidazole (see PRECAUTIONS, Drug Interactions). Kaydefoo above is copy and paste on flagyl you finished last night and you should waid 72 hours prior to ANY ALCOHOL better being safe then sorry you well very possible get as sick as if you were on antabuse to stop drinking... don't do it..Chuck1957
