Before Xolair, life has been with weekly visits to my doctor, a few trips to the urgent care, frequent epi injections because my inhalers didn't work, off and on prednisone. Was on Zyflo and Theodur regularly and worse was it affected my job performance. Since Xolair, i miraculously became better and slowly weaned off majority of my medications. I continue to have less sudden asthma attacks but noticed that my inhaler works (the attacks are less since Xolair). I feel so much better as if i have been cured. I want to stop Xolair but fear symptoms might return. Of course my doctor is against it. Would like some feedback.
I was sick constantly for about 25 years. Prednisone caused me to gain over 100 lbs and become diabetic. Theopholine, inhalers you name it I was on it. Then I heard about Xolair once it started working, just a few months after my first shot I was completely cured of asthma. It was a miracle and complete life saver. I have been on Xolair and no other asthma medication since 2004. Now of course my insurance pulled the rug out from under me. I would strongly suggest if you are able to get your Xolair stay on it. I never had any side effects from it. For so many years it gave me a normal life. I've lost 120 lbs. Cholesterol normal, blood pressure normal, sugar normal. No hospitals, no inhalers, no prednisone. Xolair is a miracle for me.
