I just strated to day and I smoked one cig while on the patch
I quit smoking using the patch several years ago. I know how hard it can be but I commend your efforts! From my own personal experience it was really about a week to ten days before I really stopped having that constant " I want a smoke" feeling. One thing I have to say though and this also come from experience... DO NOT SMOKE WITH THE PATCH ON!! I've done it. It can cause your heart to race, it messed with my high blood pressure and most importantly it puts WAY too much nicotine into your system. One thing that really helped me and it will probably sound silly is I went to walmart and bought a giant bag of dum dum (lollipops) and every time I wanted a smoke I had one of those instead. Good luck to you! You can do it! If you falter, keep trying! It was the best thing I ever did.
I tried the patch to quit smoking and I tried gum to quit smoking... I also tried Wellbutrin to Quit... none of those things worked for me!! I finally quit 3 years ago and I used Chantix to quit!!! It really worked for me after nothing else did!! You start taking it and you can smoke for the first 7 days that you are on it. Your quit day is day 7. so I took it everyday, and on day 6 I had dinner at around 5:30pm and about an hour later I noticed that I had not had my after meal cigarette!! That's when I realized that I lost my craving for nicotine!! I had 8 cigaretts left in my pack and I flushed them down the toilet and haven't wanted one since! I'm not sure what you tried yet, but if you haven't tried Chantix and can take it, try it!! Like I said it may not work for everyone, but it did for me and I know others that it helped too! Good Luck!!
