They aren't called side effects, that's from a medication. They are symptoms when we're talking about a disease. The biggest symptoms that you would see with an ulcer is pain. It depends where in the stomach the ulcer is where the pain would be but in your abdomen. Its an intense aching pain, and can go thru to your back. You can also have blood in your stool, so your stool may be dark/black. I also had waves of nausea with them. Eating generally eases the pain for a while.
