Can a steroid be used to help with chest pain related to a nephmotherax?

If you mean a pneumothorax, do you have chest tubes? I wouldn't think steroids could be used, because it increases the risk of infection and a pneumothorax sometimes can require some surgery. I also don't think it would help. Steroids are for inflammation and this pain isn't inflammation. Your dr should be keeping you on a decent pain medication for it until its healed.
