I am detected with chronic pancreatitis 2 years ago. After continuous 2-3 major attacks a stent is placed in my pancreas 9 months before. since then i am ok. I want to ask that is there any adverse effect of this stent for so long period?
No, they are made of a material that will not interact with your body. I have a friend who's had one for the last 16 yrs.
My stent caused an allergic reaction and had to be taken out three days later..suffered ever since because they won't do it again..wishing I had one and wishing you luck..but as far as I know outside of my weirdness they are fine for long term and are not known for building scar tissue.
