cholesterol level and risk factors. But doesn't body weight impact how any drug affects a person? I think that since I am a small person I should take less. Can anyone explain why this may be wrong in the case of statins? Also is it true that starting at a lower dose and raising it if desired reduction in LDL does not occur actually reduces the chances of the higher dose working, as opposed to starting at a higher dose in the first place? My LDL is over 200 and I'm 57/female. I'd like to start at 10 mg or torvastatin; she says 40 mg.
