Im an 18 year old male who has been suffering for non bacterial prostatitis/cpps which is muscle spasms in the pelvic floor. After suffering for a year and a half my urologist has decided to give me Valium searching for some relief. He instructed me to either take 2mg every 12 hours or 4mg once at night. I was wondering if anybody with experience with Valium had any opinions on which would be better? Thanks so much.
I take Valium and suffer from anxiety, chronic pain from lower back, chronic pelvic pain caused by my chronic myofascial pain in general and fibromyalgia. I also am very tolerant to medications that normally are sedative to others. I have tolerated my switch from Ativan to Valium quite well. I wish I could say that it has helped my pain, but it has not been a big enough game changer other than keeping my stress levels down and allowing me to get a good nights sleep. My chronic pelvic pain was relieved for about two years after seeing a physical therapist who specialized in pelvic floor trigger points, which I believe you are calling spasms. The treatment was painful, but well worth it. I would see if you have any specialists in your area. I was pain free for almost two years. I hope this helps. I would also add a pain management physician because I know how horrible the pain is and nobody should suffer through that.
