do you think it will be an issue with my anxiety.
You can offset some of that anxiety by not relying 100% on the Chantix, and supplementing your program with overall change in diet and exercise habits, and staying busy with friends, hobbies etc. I've been there and for me one thing that helped the most was not to dwell on the one thing. Hope this helps
Hi 1sassy lady. I have PTSD & anxiety & I quit smoking using Chantix. I was anxious about quitting for the whole week before I even began taking the Chantix. So my 1st day of no smoking I did have some anxiety not bad just a constant low level vibration running through me that made me easily distracted & kind of jumpy like I was forgetting to do something important. After a day or so that went away. Just make sure you have other things to fill the void at the times you would normally smoke like after eating a meal so that your hands & mouth are preoccupied. Smoking is not only an addiction but a hand/oral habit so you have to retrain those as well. I used cinnamon tooth picks, twizzlers, the little dum dum suckers & even kept a pen btwn my fingers like a cig alot for the 1st few weeks. Hopefully your anxiety doesn't get triggered but I cant swear it wont.
Everyone reacts differently but I can say don't allow yourself to sit & fret over it or else you will freak yourself out. Congrats on quitting! Stay strong have faith & you CAN do this! Good luck!
