... i had my period. yes i did have sex a couple times since the beginning of april but it was protected. but i havent had my period since the middle of march and its currently the middle of may. is it normal to not have a period for that long??? could I be pregnant?
Did you start the pill on the first day of your period? If not then it can mess up your period dates when starting a new pill. If you were using condoms to protect yourself along with taking the pill,it's less likely you are pregnant, but to ease your mind maybe take a home pregnancy test just to be sure and if negative then you should give your doc a call. It's not unusual for periods to be messed up when starting a new pill but if you're suffering from stress or anything like that then it can also sway it.
Hope this helps
On occasion women do miss periods on the pill or you may just get light spotting for a day or two and that is it. Have you had any spotting at all? It is possible that you could be pregnant too. Take a pregnancy test. If it is negative (and most likely it will be if you have always used a condom along with the pill) then you are not pregnant. So you technically have missed one period and are due for another. If you dont bleed this month, then you need to see your prescriber to see what is going on. They recommend that if you miss two periods that you see your prescriber/gynecologist/PCP-whoever it was that wrote you the script for the BCP's. If you are pregnant, it should show positive on a home pregnancy test by now so you may want to go ahead and do one. It is unlikely, but no birth control method is 100% effective other than abstinence. This may just not be the right pill for you.
Keep taking the pill though, until you talk to the Dr, unless you get a positive pregnancy test, of course. If the test is negative, you still want to be protected until they can do something different.
