... start whenever I wanted so I started that day about a week and a half after my last period. Five days later my husband and I had unprotected sex. She did not say Anything about a back up method so read the instructions and it said to wait a week before having unprotected sex after starting the pill. I was wondering if anyone else has been in the same or similar situation and how it turned out for them. I like kids but we are still very unsure. Plz help! Thanks!
I would worry too, you should have waited longer for unprotected sex, and you had sex during what was probably your fertile period. You started it wrong and then didn't wait long enough. There is a reason directions come with things. Here is what the prescribing info says. During the first cycle of medication, the patient is instructed to begin taking Quasense on the first Sunday after the onset of menstruation. If menstruation begins on a Sunday, the first tablet (white) is taken that day. One white tablet should be taken daily for 84 consecutive days, followed by 7 days on which a peach (inert) tablet is taken. Withdrawal bleeding should occur during the 7 days following discontinuation of white active tablets. During the first cycle, contraceptive reliance should not be placed on Quasense until a white (active) tablet has been taken daily for 7 consecutive days and a non-hormonal back-up method of birth control (such as condoms or spermicide) should be used during those 7 days. The possibility of ovulation and conception prior to initiation of medication should be considered. Your doctor is an idiot.
