... Sunday of February. First packed finished then when I was on the sugar pills I got my "period or withdrawal bleeding" on march 3rd - march 9. I'm on my second pack right now. Does this mean that I won't get my period again this month? Like the active pills keeps me from having the period and is it true that the only time when I do get my period is during the "inactive:placebos:sugar pills"?
Your period should only start when you are on the sugar pills as long as the pills are the right strength for you and you are taking them properly. You will only get your period once every 4 weeks while on the pills
If you were not on a birth control pill before the first pack started in February then you may experience some light bleeding or spotting which is called breakthrough bleeding which is normal in the first month or two until your body gets used to them.
If you continue to have light bleeding or blood spota when not on the sugar pills after taking 2 full packs of the pills then talk to the doctor or nurse who gave you the prescription as you may need different pills.
I hope this was helpful.
The above poster is correct-I just want to add-Your period should come about every 28 days so there may be calendar months where you get a period early in the month and then again at the very end of the month. Your period should come during the week of inactive or "sugar" pills but like she said, you may have some breakthrough bleeding when you are taking your active pills as your body gets used to the hormones. This may occur in up to the first 4-6 mos. The breakthrough bleeding should stop once your body gets used to the Pill. You may get breakthrough bleeding anytime you miss pills, especially if you miss two or three pills in a row because your body thinks it is time for withdrawal bleeding-you will want to use back up, like condoms, anytime you miss pills for seven days after the missed pill(s). You may also spot during the time you are on antibiotic therapy since antibiotics reduce the effectiveness of the pill so anytime you take antibiotics you will need back up for the whole time you are on antibiotics and for 7 days after you finish them.
