Well my pharmacist said it would be fine to start 3 days after my period finished since this is the first time I take birth control pills. Are the pills any less effective because I did this? And when can I start having unprotected sex? Thanks.
It may be ok from a contraceptive point of view, but its going to throw your cycle off since you're working against it. You need to use a condom for the first 7 days of the pills. And a little hint, do not use OTC as an abbreviation for ortho tricyclin. OTC means one thing in medical jargon, over the counter. I had to read your question several times until I understood what you are asking.
