... started to come back after 2 years. My doctor stated that the meds it releases start to taper off the 3rd year so he suggested getting a new one put in. I had it reimplanted this past February. I am now on my first period since it got reimplanted and I am miserable. I have spent the last 5 days with extreme gas and nausea. I have barely been able to eat. I have eithet been constipated or have diarrhea. My question is, is this normal for the first period after insertion? I honestly don't remember from a couple years ago. I want to be able to eat and not feel so sick. Will this go away at any point?
Sareena26; What you really should do is call your doctor Monday to verify but what I can tell you it is quite possible that it is the new unit, Depending on when it was put in and such many women do not get enough hormone out of it and have to wait a month for it to work without worrying about the effects of it so it is very likely that you have not been able to build up enough in your system to help control your endometriosis. Sorry, I can't give you a for sure answer maybe someone else that has gone through this can answer from what they have been through. But please call the doctor Monday so you make sure you do not have to go through this next month. Wish you success very soon.
I had that for many years and I know it's not fun the endo. I guess they have a new treatment. Never heard of that. The best thing I did was go and get laporascopy done ... at which time my doctor laser ed all the bad tissue out. I had relief for a good ten yes or more. I even had pain in between periods. I'm older now so I decided two yrs ago to have everything out. I had severe pelvic pain for seven month straight. Luckily my primary doctor was compassionate enough to give me pain med to hold me over until I finally had everything out. Good luck.
