... makes me extremely drowsy, so I started taking it at night, only to wake up 4 hours later, very energized. When I take Effexor during the day I feel drowsy and dizzy. Will these affects subside?
bellatori; yes THIS ONCE YOU HAVE BEEN ON IT A WEEK OR SO SOMETIMES 2 WEEKS MANY OF THESE TYPE SIDE EFFECTS GO AWAY. THEN YOU CAN DECIDE WHAT IS BEST FOR YOU THE MORNING OR THE EVENING BEFORE BED BUT ALWAYS AT THAT POINT TAKE IT ABOUT THE SAME TIME TO HELP KEEP YOUR BLOOD LEVELS. NORMALLY THIS IS THE STARTING DOSE AND THE DOCTOR WELL GRADUALLY RAISE YOU UP LITTLE BY LITTLE UNTIL YOU ARE DOING BETTER. MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT MISS A DOSE BUT YOU SHOULD BE FINE ANYTIME GOOD LUCK CHUCK1957
You dont know me. And your question is valid . Trust is a low commodity in todays society. But after 5 years of effexor taking everything ... everything away from me. My amswer is . NEVER. Never take this drug. I have four degrees and a paramedic. If u never believed anyone ... trust me . Get off now... this will..not maybe ... it will destroy u amd all that matters to u. Get off it now !!! I can not be more honest. !!! It wont help . It might for a month or two... but then you will have to up the dosage . I d explain the biology ..but ... trust me. If you think you are in hell or uncomfortable now. Just wait. !! If u dont believe me . Do independent research ... i did too late bc i trusted my docs ... i hope you heed this warning. Or welcome to your own slow demise .
I started Effexor 6 days ago 37.5 XL~ I am what they call a poor metabolizer so I might need to stay on a low dose. I hope it works for me too for anxiety/depression. I felt drowsy the 1st few days and fell asleep in the afternoon on the couch reading. I have always had trouble with sleep at night. I have been having nausea pretty bad in the am, but eating again is good. I was on sertraline for 23 years worked beautifully till mid June. I take mine in the morning along with a .5 Klonipin for anxiety. It seems to work. Taking it till the Effexor kicks in. This waiting game is so unsettling. Let me know how you are doing, we are at the same point of treatment.
