I started taking birth control 3 days ago as soon as my last period ended. The leaflet that came with the medication (Lutera) says that it takes a full month to be effective. I am very worried but don't want to take Plan B, especially since the birth control is already messing with my hormones. Should I take it? Do I even need to be this worried about this?
It works after 7 days, so you really aren't protected yet. I'm afraid plan B is your only option. I can understand your hesitation. You could give your gyne a call and see what he/she says.
Call your doctor! Yes, you need to be worried. Most birth controls are effective after 7 days, and if the pamphlet says a month then it's a month. Call your doctor, and they'll probably tell you to take Plan B to avoid an unwanted pregnancy.
