I have bulging discs up and down my spine, I have chronic pain in my head, legs and back, fibromyalgia, and chronic fatigue. Is a 6 day pack gonna work right away or have any lasting effects? Otherwise, it seems almost pointless/not worth the risk of side effects.
Medrol/steroids in general have never worked for me. They have, however, had great fun with my endocrine system; the last time I was on a Medrol pack, had a 17-day period, during which I had to shave facial hair daily. That's a side effect nobody ever warns you about, so just know that it is possible for your hormones to become completely unbalanced even on less than a week of steroids. If you have the proper equipment, your next period may be incredibly different than what you're used to. DON'T PANIC. (I don't know what the equivalent would be for the other set.)
In terms of time - it takes a few days. This question was posted four days ago, so when you read this answer, this is probably about the time you should be seeing some improvement, plus or minus a day or two. If you don't see improvement within 2 days of finishing the pack, the Medrol pack didn't work. Disappointing, but it just means you need to try something else. Best of luck to you!
If you started then you need to finish it out as prescribed or have your doctor involved if you end early. Generally people have a response within a day or two so it's also important to let your doctor know if nothing seems to be happening and ask when they expect you to notice it. The medication has anti-inflammation effects so it can help you back greatly by allowing the stress worsened and continuing the reaction by giving your back time to heal, plus it can increase speed of the healing process for your back.
