My periods are very irregular. They almost never comes. So now my doctor put me on the nuva ring to prevent pregnancy. I know I'm suppose to start the nuva ring on the 1st day of my cycle. But if my period isn't coming. Can I just insert the ring anyways? To start the process of being on birth control. Will it do me any harm to start the ring without being on my period ?
Since your period is almost non existent, it won't hurt to start it. Just remember you need to use a condom for the first 7 days. A little tip, get it up there as far as it will go. If you feel it its not in right. And check the placement daily to be sure its still there. They can fall out. Don't be afraid, it can't go up too far. If you take it out for sex it must be put back in within 3 hrs.
