I got a prescription for Levora today to try to regulate my periods. My next period should start about 1 week from now, which is when I leave for vacation. I'm hoping that starting the medication now will allow me to delay my start date by a week? What will happen if I start these pills now? I am NOT using this medication for the actual purpose of birth control, just cycle regulation.
It should be okay to start now since you arent using them for contraception and you are irregular to boot. It is no guarantee that you will skip your period though-you could bleed sooner or even heavier or not at all. One of the reasons to start at period time is to keep the cycle as in sync as possible. The first day of menstruation is considered the start of the cycle. If you are irregular anyway, it probably wont matter that much.
