... weekend a horrible idea or just drinking to excess?
I take 20 mg per day and drink 1 or 2 alcoholic drinks in the evening several times a week and definitely noticed from the start a quicker effect, but I'm very conscious of it and limit myself. My doc knows about this and is okay with it. I don't think what you said is in excess.
Hi, please do not take any of fence to what I am going to write as I am doing so as a Pharmacy Technician. I take Cymbalta for Depression and I have FMS and uncontrolled Epilepsy.
It is always advised NOT to drink alcohol at the same time as taking Cymbalta as it can increase the levels of serious side effects and cause damage to your Liver. It can also also increase the levels of any other side effects but where you may not usually feel any of them, on alcohol you would.
Some healthcare advisors may say it is ok to drink a very small amount ( something I the Pharmaceutical Formulary and Society always see in warnings ) You have to take into consideration your illness and how you feel at the time,
( feeling lower than usual, feeling better than usual! ) both could lead to taking just that one too many, and I mean one, making any side effect worse or give you one you've never had before. You also don't mention if you are taking any other meds ... these should also be checked.
I'm sorry if I sound like I'm being a scarecrow but I would sooner see you healthy without than suffering for the sake of one or two.
From someone who used to enjoy a drink as much as anyone and now hasn't been able to for over 14 yrs ;-( ... good luck
I hope you take care in whichever choice you make throughout this journey of pain we all have... NYU
