I have been suffering from COPD since I moved to West Virginia and stayed to Clarksburg Mission Shelter! They refused to Clean it with Bleach! There was Black Mold everywhere including the Fans that was blowing in me directly on me when I was sleeping at night! We did not stay there long; But now I have COPD for the rest of my life and my lung are only breathing 50% of my lungs ability!
Would I be able to get SSDI coverage?

Bleach gets rid of black mold but so does other cleaning products. . It also grows in dark damp areas not fans. What you saw on the fans was probably dirt. It causes bleeding in the lungs not copd. There are other reasons then smoking for copd. If you aren't able to work, then you should apply for it.
The only way to know for sure is to apply. Expect to be turned down the first time. Dont be discouraged if they do, they often turn everyone down the first time. If you are unable to work then you should apply. I agree with KM, I doubt that this is the cause of your COPD. COPD is usually a result of long term lung damage like with smoking or long time asthma. COPD stands for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease so there has to be some kind of long term breathing problem. Asthma is a common culprit because the obstruction causes changes within the lungs over time. Mold can aggravate breathing problems though and this may be why you were diagnosed at this time. It is often controllable with medications and lifestyle changes.
