I have been on Sprintec for 6 months and I'm on the 3rd day of a new pack. Last night my boyfriend finished inside of me, could I be pregnant? I always skip the placebos & go forward with the active pills
Like Kaismama said, if you are taking your pills correctly, you have a less than 1% chance of pregnancy. You should do a period at least every 3 months though otherwise you are going to start having breakthrough bleeding then end up needing a D&C procedure to scrape the excess uterine lining out. It continues to build while you are on the Pill and you are not allowing yourself time to shed it (the uterine lining) Sooner or later it will begin to shed and you wont know when this is going to happen so the bleeding will be erratic and it could get heavy at times. You should at least allow yourself a period every 3rd month. I also want to point out that if you take the placebo pills, you are still protected even then as long as you took the active ones correctly so dont be thinking to not take the placebos because you think you wont be protected during that time and there is no need to wait seven days after the placebos either. Once you are protected after that first month, as long as you take the pills correctly, you stay protected even during and after the placebo pills!
