How long should I take the birth control until it's considered 'active' in my body? I've been told it can be anywhere from a week to four or five weeks.
When I was working family planning, we had girls use a back up method until they were through with the first pack of pills, after they went thru the week of sugar or inert pills they were considered protected from pregnancy. (Please remember that pills dont protect against STD's so condoms are still recommended)
