Hydroxyzine is an antihistamine that is used for anxiety. If he is use to taking for control of anxiety, his anxiety symptoms my return, but otherwise there are no dependency issues with antihistamines to be worried about.

Well said, Laurie.

Dee; Laurie as always is 100% with her answer but prior to stopping the Hydroxyzine make sure you get the doctor giving it to him a call It could be doing more than you think with the Lithium for side effects or increased anxiety and he may be stable now but you take it away and he could have more problems it is not habit forming or anything like that and he is better off taking it than other antianxiety medications. Chuck1957 Just does not take much of a change to alter his body chemistry.
