He almost 10 years old and on 72 of concerta
Yes, Concerta is a stimulant. If he is getting this reaction like this, it can mean a few different things. One being that perhaps he is not ADD/ADHD or it could be he is getting too much medication. Stimulants in an ADHD kid work a bit differently. It tends to mellow them down and helps them focus their thoughts better. Instead of reacting to every little thing that stimulates their nervous system, it allows them to separate out what is important and what can be ignored. Usually kids who are ADHD respond immediately to stimulants. I know with my boy, within hours of giving him Concerta the first time, our house was actually peaceful. He and his brother were not fighting so much. We weren't constantly having to check his behavior. I would let the Dr know that he is getting too nervous and jittery. They need to maybe cut his dose or try another medication. How is his focus and behavior otherwise? Is he any better?
