Searching for the right med is half the battle. What has current physician offered? If you are not being listened to, you may need a new dr. It all depends on what he is on now and if those meds are working, what can be added without side effects. Express your concern to dr and see what he/she suggests. Good luck.
mkbraaten; It could very well help you should talk to his doctor and see what the doctor thinks,We are all different and the medications work different on all of us all you can do is try it for awhile and remember there are a lot of other choices if this does not seem to help your son.But you can't tell until you and the doctor work on this and find the right medication for him Chuck1957
i am just contributing based on our recent experience. as stated by someone else, finding the right medication or even non medication is key, but we have had success with SAMe. We are currently at 600mg. our 12 year old is taking this, together with magnesium because he has had migraines since he was about three. Since taking these two things together he has been much less anxious and has not had a migraine. We have consulted with a pediatric neurologist about the SAMe before giving it to him and she had no concerns. Of course check with your child's doctor about anything but hang in there. Hope this is helpful to someone somewhere!
