Why would someone be weaned off Coumadin and started on Lovenox?

Are you having major surgery? If so, then you will have protection while your body rids itself of the Coumadin. It takes between 5-7 days for the Coumadin to be entirely removed from your body. The surgeon can then have you stop the Lovenox 24-36 hours before the surgery.
You will need to provide a lot more info if you are not having surgery to give you an answer.
