Do they take double the dose for one condition? As in, if someone has schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, and is taking risperidone to treat both, would they take twice as much as they would if they were only being treated for schizophrenia?
If someone has two conditions which are being treated with the same medication?

Hi, writer! No, usually the prescribed dosage is sufficient to control the symptoms of both disorders and there is a maximum dosage for medications that generally is not exceeded. However, a doctor might add additional medications to control specific symptoms not relieved by the antipsychotic (antidepressants, mood stabilizers, anxiolytics, etc.).
Best wishes, WCV

Thanks, as you can tell by my username I'm a fiction writer and one of my characters has multiple psychological issues for which he takes medication, some of which treats more than one of his conditions, so I needed to know this. Thanks again for your help.
