Thanks- what about Cymbalta affecting sleep? Do a lot of people experience sleep problems/ nightmares while on it?
Yes, especially and most common at the onset, first 2-3 months. In many cases they either started high (60mgs) and went up from there too fast, before fully adjusting to their current dosage.
For me as well, it affected sleep, weird dreams, cold sweats, etc.
I know I was on it maybe 5 or 6 years ago but it's hard to remember the side effects..I do remember sweating more..it did help depression and Fibromyalgia pain though, I'm hesitating to take it, I picked up the Rx from my doctor last Friday but it's still sitting there looking at me. What I remember the most is what a nightmare it was to come off of, literally..horrible night terrors, couldn't sleep, achey, bad.. :( thanks for your answers, it helps to talk to someone.
What dosage is it?
It's only 30 mg but I am very sensitive to medications so I'm still nervous.. I don't think I ever went up to 60 even back when I took it :)
Well, say 2 more weeks to give it time to settle, then we'll see.
Trazadone made me suicidal. I had to go to a 1 week in patient facility to get off it. Plus I had horrible nightmares from it. My proscriber had me on Trasadone 300 mg, 1 mg of xanax, 90 mg of Cymbalta. I was a mess. The treatment I received at the in patient place was great. I am still on 90 mg of Cymbalta but all the rest are gone. I have neralogical effects from childhood long term neglect and abuse. I wish I could get rid of Cymbalta but it's the only med that has helped. I have tried so many... 3 neurologists and several head shrinks later I realize that's just the way it is.
I understand about wanting to get off meds, I've been taking Klonopin for 15 years and would love to stop because I'm not sure it helps much anymore and it makes me so tired half the day no matter how early in the evening I take it. I know Klonopin is one of the hardest to get off of too. Cymbalta was not a picnic either that's why I'm so afraid to take it again even though it helped me. Damn these meds and their side effects but if they help your quality of life it is worth it! I wish I could go to a 1 week facility but I'm not sure my crappy insurance would cover it. I may ask about that for getting off Klonopin though, thanks for your comment.
