I think this site in general has itself filled with caring compassionate people who's genuine interest if to get help and at least from what I've seen the thought that applies to me is that they give an awful lot (it's better to give than recieve) I think they follow the golden rule, I haven't taken Soma only during a short period of time and the last time that I heard it was one of the drugs that was going to be discontinued, I think one of it's principal components is it is related to meprobamate anyway I know due to lots of people who took the drug were abusing the drug and this is a guess but probably one of the reasons it is being discontinued.
there are drugs such as Bacloflan, Flexeril, Robaxin, Skelaxin and yet some others sometimes using heat and alternating heat and cold therapy helps, sometimes it seems that insstead of laying flat if you have a recliner it can be of more value than laying flat, when I had the issue with my back the doctor had me take daily does of Vitamin B6, Calcium is another one that is good for bones at that time I think I also used Oscal, also sometimes even though the smell isn't the best the things that heat up like Bengay patches provide relief of pain it seemed to me that it worked deep into the area and not only caused pain relief but just general relaxation of the muscles, if your doctor can have your insurance to cover it then it may be that Lidoderm patches may be a better choice they are really costly paying out of pocket you wera them on 12 hours off 12 hours but it seems like the medicine gets in your system and the 12 you are off you still obtain it helping, the patches contain Lidocaine which tends to numb the area and for many conditions it does seem to work well, I do hope that I have at least given you some ideas and I do hope that you start to feel better, I heard another thing which was relayed by a friend (a dear friend) that Magnesium 500mg works to help your body in general, it seems that what your body does not use it is discarded through the urine, it would be worth a try and see if it makes a difference in the way that you feel in general. best wishes to you Caringsonbj (Billy)
Good Luck to you!
I am one of the few people on this site who continues to use Soma on a nightly basis, for both muscle spasms/pain and to help me sleep. I have never had a problem with it, but I know many others have.
I hate to keep reading of how it is going to be taken off the market, due to abuse by some.
It is the ONLY thing that has ever given me any relief... and I have tried many other pains meds!
Best Wishes, and I know the very caring people on this site will do their best to help you.
Mary, the madhatter.
