how do you talk out the anxiety when your body twitch and your body just wants to run... or for that matter any other disorder how can you just talk it out because all my (issues) and i dont see how talking about it you can get passed it?
I understand your confusion. Talk therapy comes in many forms such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or Emotive Therapy or any number of other modalites such as hypnosis. Bottom line is the mere fact of talking about ones fears, problems, concerns and the like seems to put them into perspective. It helps to decrease their power over us. A good therapist can help us gain control when we are out of control.
I refer to talk therapy as a partner to medicinal therapy. They both have there place in healing the mind and the brain. I guess you could look at as talk therapy heals the mind while medication heals the brain.

Hi there you do need to go into councilling,that doesnt allways mean talking about what you are feeling because a lot of people cannot explain their inner feelings so when you find it hard to express yourself about personal issues the councillers should give you sheets of questionairs to answer so then they & the doctors know how you are feeling.Your doctor is best to help you as he will list all your personal health problems & anything of revelence to your mental state in a letter to a health professional working in this area, so dont worry so much help is at hand !!! good luck Candypq
I have social anxiety disorder. Talk therapy that I am in helps me. We talk about deep hurts and problems from my past. I am not saying that this works for everyone or it can cure it but I can understand now why I react in certain ways when things happen. Everyone is different. The doctor I go to says I may have this all my life.It's not your body telling you to run it is your brain. I get alot of attacks. When it happens I try to talk myself out of it. When I feel like Iam going to die or something horrible is going to happen and I don't know why. I stop and tell myself this feels real but it is not. This of course does not work all the time but it does work some of the time. The next thing I do if it does not work is take a xanax and wait till it kicks in.
I can only tell you how it works for me.I do know how you feel and it is a terrible feeling and a lot of people do not understand. I remember 5 years ago I was at work and i just had to leave and get out the building. I could not breath. My heart was racing and I just wanted to run. Everyone thought I was crazy and that hurts. All I can say is you just have to keep trying and make sure you have a good doctor that really does understand. Take care of yourself
