... were normal, I have the symptoms of burning feet, tingling etc. now my neurologist is sending me to a psychiatrist, he says could be from my high anxiety leve. Could that be the cause?
My tests all came back normal but was told that my EMG can have "normal" results because the neuropathy had not progressed enough to register any damage yet to the nerves. The experts say to get diagnosed early to prevent further damage which I did. Lot of good that did me! I had to pay $1200 deductible! I know I have it and still do and my GP prescribes 10 mg. of Amitriptyline. When they don't have answers they want to send you to a shrink! Don't buy it! Get another doc. You know your own body.
No! That's not the answer. I did have all the tests too. Emg showed carpal tunnel and the skin biopsy came back high postive abnormal nerve fibers. I was diagnosed 4 years ago with this horrible disease! It's centralized and throughout my entire body. Please, please get another opinion! If you do have it, it needs to be treated right away. Don't listen to that all on the head! Ugh doctors just don't have much compassion anymore! So sad! Keep me posted!
I've idiopathic, progressive SFPN for ten yrs. Now feet burn, throb, etc and are numb. Weird yes. Psychosomatic no. When Drs don't have answers, send us to shrinks.
There is nothing to be done to cure it, slow it, improve it. Wear socks when it's cold-cold feet makes pain worse.
Ointment with lidocaine helps abit. I've tried lidocaine patches but didn't work.
Been on 600mg 2xd of gabapentin, for so long that I don't know if it really helps. Cymbalta deadly.

My high anxiety level when triggered causes hives.
