... birthday one month ago and I'm so scared I have noone to talk to
Hi Tammy, I'm so sorry to hear that; being told you have an expiry date (my words) by a specialist can leave you feeling awful: empty, angry, tearful and depressed. I don't have cancer but I don't have a marvelous life expectancy either and I'm scared too.
Do you have no family for support or are you hiding the truth from them? Maybe they don't understand or maybe you are like someone I once knew who kept to himself as he didn't have the energy to provide support for those around him. He simply did not have spare energy to comfort the people who cared about him who were trying to deal with his possible demise.
I hardly know what to say as small cell lung carcinoma is rapid, invasive and ultimately cruel. The chemo isn't as bad as some people claim so get all the treatment you can. Don't be shy about getting and using pain relief as it will make a real difference to your quality of life also.
Being on the other side of the planet I can only offer moral support but if you want a friend to talk to privately or someone to explain what the doctors are telling you I may be able to help (you just have to befriend me and allow private messages from friends).
Not being religious I can't pray for you but will keep you in my thoughts; if a higher power exists, I hope it hears.
Please take care, Steve
Hello Tammy. My name is Christie and my mom was diagnosed with extensive small cell carcinoma in March of 2009. Her oncologist told us that there was no surgery option for her that they could do chemo to try to help "slow" it down but even with the chemo that she had 6 months to a year at the max to live.
So my father & I took her to her chemo and after she finished the 2nd round of that her oncologist wanted to do another scan to see if it was helping and by the grace of God it had shrunk to less than a quarter the size of what he had first discovered. So we continued to take her when it was time for her next rounds of chemo and with continued scans it remained very calm and stayed small
To make a long story a little shorter she lived a decent life for am amazing 2 years and 9 months!!! I am so sorry that you are so young and have to go through this but only God is capable of deciding when your time is up on this earth. . Let no human scare you like that. Will pray for you often and just ask God to carry you through this♥♥♥
Hi Tammy, my husband was diagnosed with small and large cell lung cancer, He had a 6 inch mass in his chest and they only gave him 3 months to live. It's been 6 and his cancer is gone. There's a lot of good med's out there. You're gonna beat this. It's ok to be scared, the main thing is to stay POSITIVE. Attitude means everything.
