I recently experienced partial loss of vision in one eye (it came back) but I was put in the hospital and they ran all sorts of tests. One was called a paraneoplastic test and the calcium channel N type antibody came back positive. Now my doctor wants to look for small cell lung cancer and I'm scared. They are looking in my brain too. Has anybody here heard of this? I don't know what to expect. Does this mean I more than likely have lung cancer? Thanks!!
Your doctor just run the commen procedure for check which kind of cancer and what type of cancer, also what is the stage etc., follow your doctor's check, no need worry before anything confirmed, if you don't trust this doctor then change one before you are going to receive any treatment under any doubts. Loss eye vision could related to brain tumor, however, one PET CT + MRI should be able show everything or anything that is wrong in your body including your brain, loss vision should be treat it urgently, otherwise, if it is tumor cause, it could make this loss vision permanently. Wish you well.
