I just started taking Klonopin (4 days now). I take 1 mg at bedtime and have been told I can take .5 mg during the day if needed. It is helping tremendously with my panic attacks (my young daughter is having a mild medical issue the last two months for which we haven't yet found a diagnosis and has more tests coming up and my psychiatrist thinks this brought on the panic disorder). I am noticing during the day brief periods of break through anxiety and my mind immediately freaks and I feel panic coming on that the medicine isn't working. These don't last long. I know the medicine is working. My question, after a little more time on daily (1.5 mg) Klonopin will I see this break through anxiety subside? Does the Klonopin work better the longer it's taken? Thanks for your help!!
Small break through anxiety on Klonopin?
Added 1 Feb 2015:
Wanted to add that my doctor and I are the same page that we want this Klonopin to be a short term aid in getting through the panic associated with my daughters procedures. Hopefully in 3-5 weeks all will be resolved and my doctor can begin taking me off Klonopin altogether. Thanks again! :)
Be very careful what your playing with. Benzodiazepines are the worst drug out there. I also thought it was a godsend at FIRST. Now 12 yrs later it is the biggest demon ever. It down regulates your GABA and has the worst withdrawal known to man. I actually wish you never started this medicine. It stops working completely after awhile and you must up dose to compensate for the lost REAL GABA. Do some research.
