I take 30 mg pill every night.I can not go to sleep without it.
Hi, totally agree with what Dzoo has said. Are you asking because you wish to discontinue the medication? If so, you can look up the good sleep hygiene guide, this will help you to manage without the medication. If you want a copy i can e-mail it to you, just send me your address in a private question
They prescribed this for me as well at my last check up. I don't like it, because I heard it can be so habit forming. And the 2 times I did take it a tornado could have come through my house and I would not even have known! I have 3 children at home. I was scared like what if a fire broke out and I could not hear the smoke detectors? Or someone break in while I am knocked out? I went back to the Melatonin and if I can't sleep still, Benadryl works just as well.(for me, only my opinion). I am a worry wort I know, but this is a strong medication. I don't know of any long term harm, except being habit forming. As far as I know. But it couldn't hurt to try an alternative instead of taking this med. every night. I would talk to my Physician if I were you about how you feel and if it safe to take this long. Good luck to you and I hope this helped!
I am guessing you mean Temazepam and it is addictive and very difficult to get off. Everything I have read says that it is not recommended for long term use only short term use due to possible memory loss if on it long term.
I was on it for 2 months which is well beyond the 10 to 14 days it is recommended for. I suffered terrible withdrawals and the benzo sweats lasted a full 3 months after I stopped taking it. I am surprised that it still works for you as it was pooping out for me after 40 days which is why I decided to stop taking it and found out how addicting it is.
Have you done any nighttime wandering while on this med? I used to get up and make myself something to eat during the night and had no memory of it in the morning. The only reason I know this was by the mess on the kitchen counter in the morning and I am the only one in the house that eats peanut butter.
