I have chronic sinusitis as well as a deviated septum in my right nostril. I've suffered from sinus headaches for a long time. I have the pain in my pressure in my forehead, brow, and just underneath my eye as well as the bridge of my nose. They come and go with the season but this past week has been pretty tough. Very painful headaches, lightheadedness, and even a bit of dizziness. I'm currently on Claritin in hopes to relieve some of the symptoms, I also take aspirin for the pain. I need surgery, but at this time am unable to get it. Does anyone have any advice on how to manage the headaches/lightheadedness?
If you have a history of sinus issues, they can be exacerbated during the winter months. Dizziness can be caused by fluid caught in your inner ear ( which then gets drained via your sinus). Taking antihistamines can help dry that fluid up, but sometimes you have to take them for a while vs a couple of doses.
You should defiantly see an ENT to rule out polyps,or infection. If you bend over to pick something up, does the pain get worse? if so, a round of antibiotics might be in order.
Good luck :)
